2D OR NOT 2D ANIMATION FESTIVAL
The '2D OR NOT 2D Animation Festival' has remained a successful promoter and supporter of all forms of animation - but especially traditional hand-drawn animation - for over 5 years.
Originally launched in Everett's 'Historic Theater', where it was opened by the legendary Roy E. Disney in 2006, the festival's reputation and integrity has gone from strength to strength ever since. Testament to this the the fact that is has always managed to attract major guest speakers from around the animation world to its events, as well as it featuring some of the most remarkable indie and student-based animated shorts ever created in its 'Golden Pencil Award' competitions.
The most recent event was held at Seattle's Eames IMAX Theater at the beginning of 2011. However, as a result of the current tough economic times the festival has found it extremely difficult to secure a permanent sponsor for the event in such recent times, despite it being one of the more popular and well-supported events in the Pacific Northwest calendar.
As a result The MOVING CASTLE will support and sponsor this event in the future - continuing to offer inspiration to all those who have a passion for creating animation - especially for traditional 2D animation!
